Wow! What a rain

Wow! We got more than a years worth of rain in 1 three day storm. Temperatures are dipping low and the puddles are rising.
The prediction is more nights nearing (and even passing) the freezing mark. I know that that is warm to many of you, but here on the West coast (close to the beach), it is unusual, even surprising. I never thought that I would have to be concerned about my pipes freezing, but it lingers in the back of my mind when I see the outside thermometer reading below 32• .
Then there is the rain - and wind. The last storm was not a typical storm for us. The wind was blowing the oposite direction while the clouds unleashed their fury. The rain was blown up into the roof vents and was dripping in the attic on the drywall of the ceiling. I had to get in the attic with some trash cans and buckets to catch the drips before it soaked through the ceiling.
Our back yard is still suffering from the remodeling blues, and has no landscaping (maybe a good thing- it may not survive the current arctic conditions), and therefore is the perfect consistency for a good game of frozen mud ball.
What is the latest weather doing to you?
