Right turn

I drive a truck. A big truck. A 1987 Peterbilt. My truck and trailer empty is over 20,000 pounds, and over 50 feet long. Starting, stopping, and making a turn in either direction takes more concentration and more effort than in regular vehicles. On an almost daily basis I have people cut me off and then slow down to a near stop to make right turns in front of me. Often times I come within  feet of rearranging the whole rear end of their vehicles. Also, on an almost daily basis I'll have somebody try to pass me on the right while I'm attempting to make a right turn. I constantly have to be aware of my surroundings because those other drivers on the road assume that they can treat me like a regular car, and that I have the stopping distance, reaction distance and maneuverability of a standard passenger car. I don't. Sometimes other people on the road just have to stay behind me regardless of how slow and cumbersome I am driving. As I put some thought into this one day after dealing with yet another person trying to pass me on the right while I was making a right turn, I got to thinking about how it is that I treat God. Often times I try to get  in front of God as well, passing on the right or left trying to push ahead with my own agenda. When what I really need to do is to lay back, look for the signals and follow. How many of us are constantly fighting to try to pass God on the right or left to get ahead of him when all we need to do is sit back, watch the signals and follow?
