New Years 2016 |
This year we have 5 children 10 years old and under. As per our usual tradition we celebrated the turn of the new year on east coast time for these young ones. Typically we will find a television channel airing the east coast celebration live and tune in for the last few minutes of the countdown. We do our best to make it a big deal so that they feel that they have been a part of the celebration. The celebration was with all the regalia fitting young children on such a momentous event. Martinellis, bagel bites and corn dogs were served and consumed in generous quantities. As I said, this is our tradition. It allows the young ones to be apart of the celebration with all the fanfare while allowing the older children and adults to celebrate separately with, honestly, better food and more Martinellis. We love making events like these special for the young ones because it helps strengthen the family bonds and continues to promote multi-generational/varied age range interaction.
What are your New Years traditions with your family & children?
